Welcome back campers! This will be the conclusion to the previous post. So in the last post we had archived the Carrol because she was laid off, now business has picked back up and we need to get her back in GP. Now normally you would have to enter the information again, but with the Employee Archive Utility we don’t have to do that.
So lets open up the utility in question.
Now we want to click on the Archived Employees button at the bottom of the window. When you do this will populate a list of all the archived employees.
Now we click on Carol’s record and click Retrieve. You will be prompted to confirm you wish to retrieve her records. Click yes.
You will then need to click Yes again to retrieve the records. Then you are asked about deleting the archived records. I think this to be a matter of preference. I said yes in my demo lab but I will let you decide your own adventure. .
I’d also like to make a correction on my previous post. This is not a new feature for GP 2016.
